Right now I am working as an assistant principal for summer school and I LOVE IT! I feel so productive and accomplished. I'm getting more comfortable with speaking to/phoning parents, giving direction to others and making decisions without always conferring with my bosses. I'm also viewing this as an extended interview because I'm hoping that this high school will remember me when they need a new admin and I would also like to use them as a reference. I hate to admit it but I took some advice from a magazine about "moving up"... basically, take cues from your boss (the way they dress, the words they use) and be first in/last out. Totally seems cheesy but it seems to be working so far. I feel like they rely on me.
In conclusion, so far, so good. Happy Amy.
